Here at TechSmith we believe in the importance of listening to our customers and doing whatever we can to meet their needs. One shining example of this is the recent addition of an Academic Solutions Team. The team is comprised of people from various departments who are focused on the education community and how we can help solve some of the challenges that educators face at all levels and in all types of institutions. We are extremely excited to collaborate with you and look forward to being an integral part of the constantly changing landscape of academics and digital learning.
Without further ado, allow me to introduce the team and tell you a little about everyone!
Haley Carwile, Academic Solutions Account Manager

Haley Carwile
Haley helps current and potential customers develop the best software solutions to fit their needs. She assists customers through the entire procurement process and loves building long-term relationships!
Haley was a cheerleader for Butler University during the first of Butler Basketball’s back-to-back National Championship appearances! She also drives a wicked-cool Mustang.
Sam Curcuruto, Sales Representative

Sam Curcuruto
Sam gets to develop and present new and innovative solutions to prospective and existing academic customers.
A little known fact about Sam: In high school he raised cows, pigs, sheep, chickens and farmed fields of wheat, corn and soybeans to earn an American FFA Degree from the Future Farmers of America Organization. And just for good measure, he is now building his own remote controlled drone.
Mike Curtis, Educational Technologist

Mike Curtis
Mike explores how our products can work with other software and services, and works with our development teams to make things as easy and useful as possible.
Mike often wishes he had invented the ketchup packets that can serve for both dipping and squirting. He is also an avid Spiderman fan and in a past life, saved a kitten from a tree.
Matt Dennis, Academic Account Manager – Camtasia Relay Solutions

Matt Dennis
Otherwise known as “the Relay guy,” Matt works with existing and new customers on implementation of our Camtasia Relay lecture capture solution.
Matt is often mistaken in restaurants as Adam from MythBusters and also volunteered on the set of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. He recently took his first major family vacation with his own kids to Mt. Rushmore; he was not disappointed!
Ryan Eash, Instructional Designer for Academic Solutions

Ryan Eash
Ryan helps educators learn how to use our products successfully; through video tutorials, webinars and in-person training. He loves getting to work with teachers and sharing how our software can help make a difference in their classrooms.
Ryan lives in Indiana and was an educator for 10 years (K – Higher Ed) prior to joining TechSmith in 2007. He has a sweet tooth for ice cream and one of his summer highlights was discovering that Red Robin serves bottomless root beer floats!

Jessie LaHaie, Online Community Specialist – Education

Jessie LaHaie
Jessie interacts with educators across various social networks including Twitter, Facebook and the Flipped Learning Network Ning to help make connections and share stories.
She is often mistaken for a student at her son’s elementary school because most of the kids are taller than she is. Jessie is also terrified of the ‘pop’ sound when opening tubes of dinner rolls, and is a green belt in Sanchin-Ryu karate.

Kelly Larson, Channel Account Manager – Academic Solutions

Kelly Larson
Kelly travels the globe to train and provide academic resources to our US and international education partners and their customers.
She loves running and has completed three marathons! Although, the last one was in 2010 so in order to keep her Twitter handle (@CAMrunnerKel) relevant, she just started running again. Her Teacup Yorkie, Bria, loves when Kelly brings her along on trips.
Dave McCollom, Education Evangelist

Dave McCollom
Dave works on developing long-term relationships with TechSmith customers and helps share their successes with the world.
He likes to think of himself as a professional amateur chef and brewer. Dave is currently accumulating kitchen gadgets at an alarming rate.

Doug O’Brien, Director Digital Learning

Doug O'Brien
Doug works with national associations like NSBA, CoSN (Supports Twenty-to-Watch) and SiiA. He assists school districts with district-wide digital learning decisions and deployments.
He lives in Virginia and is a former middle school STEM teacher and basketball coach. Doug enjoys biking, golf and sailing his 14.2 Capri.
Rachael Parker, Education Marketing Manager

Rachael gets to share educator’s stories with our customers and the media.
She also has dual citizenship after living in London for nearly 6 years. Rachael also has an alter-ego. Her name is Dita Von Beats and she’s a DJ.
Troy Stein, Solutions Architect

Troy Stein
Troy loves meeting and observing customers! When he’s really lucky, he gets to make videos about them.
Troy has been known to jump up and down like a giddy school girl at his daughter’s soccer games. His other talents include wiggling his ears, giving guided tours of San Francisco and speaking German (all of which he can do at the same time!) He also read the Twilight books to better understand his teenage daughters.

Jason Valade, EDU Customer Solutions Engineer

Jason Valade
Jason is a former classroom teacher. He gets to work with our customers to help them understand our software and how it best helps them achieve their goals.
Jason thinks he is a rapper… seriously. The music blasting from cubicle is questionable, at best. Jason is also the co-creator of the latest (TechSmith) social media craze, Tuesdays With Snagit.

John Veit, Manager – Academic Solutions Team

John Veit
John gets to work with our awesome customers and an awesome team at a great company to create solutions that will make a difference in education.
He is often told that he resembles ‘someone famous’ although no one seems to know who!
