How many TechSmithies does it take to plan ScreencastCamp?

There are only three days left until ScreencastCamp and boy, we’ve been busy. As you’re packing up your tent, getting an oil change, and calling the babysitter…we’ve been doing a few things ourselves to prepare for your arrival.

Prep

For most of you, this’ll be like a first date… and TechSmith is dressing to impress! Picking up in the offices, spraying for mosquitoes, cleaning up goose poop, turning off sprinklers, setting up the food tent & tables, marking off campsites, posting signs to help people find their way around—let’s just say we’re beautifying this place for your pleasure.

Munchies

Meals, drinks, and snacks… all kinds, plenty of it, and all for free!

Brews

Our lovely TechSmithies—Dave McCollom, Brian Dishaw, Chris Larson, and Brandon Thomas—have been dedicating their precious time to home brewing 30 gallons (yep, 30) of beer for the event. What types of beer, you beer-enthusiasts might ask? So far we have Rye Pale Ale, Blackberry Wit, Milk Stout, Weizenbock, Pale Ale, and Amber (see video below). Indulge responsibly!

Swag

No event is complete without its swag, right? We are giving attendees t-shirts, mugs, bandanas, notebooks, pens, and more. You name it, we have it!

Crew

So who’s setting up all this stuff anyway? We have 50 TechSmith volunteers signed up to help out in a variety of ways. Give them a smile, a high five, or whatever method of appreciation of your choosing when passing by to thank them for spending their time off providing you—our beloved campers—with the best possible experience here at TechSmith headquarters.

Oh… we also use technology around here

Along with our own products, the Maker Bot will be set up, as well as a few other cool gadgets such as Swivl, for people to “check out” and use over the weekend. eBooks have also been donated from O’Reilly for our fine guests.

Thanks for all your hard work (& play). Screencastcamp 2011 was great. I am sorry I cannot make it this year.
