What are sessions like at ScreencastCamp?

Picking Sessions - ScreencastCampWhat’s unique about an unconference or BarCamp like ScreencastCamp is that the content of the sessions is always a surprise! As an unconference newb attendee in 2011, I will admit being a bit nervous about the whole thing.

“You mean, people just show up, talk for awhile, and a conference agenda emerges?”

Yep, that’s about how it works.

It’s a bit of a leap of faith, but when you’ve seen it happen once, it’s easier to believe it will happen again.

Which is why I thought it might be helpful to share some of the sessions captured from ScreencastCamp 2012, which I’ll do below. They give you a taste of what you can expect if you register to attend.

But first, a quick word about recorded event sessions. Working at TechSmith, of course I’m a big fan of presentation recording. But I’ve also learned that there’s something different about experiencing a live event than watching a recording of a live event. It’s a different kind of magic. Attending a live event is less efficient, perhaps, but also richer, more immersive, and more about the people and the connections you can make.

Both have a place. But if there’s any way you can make it to ScreencastCamp this August in person, I hope you will do that! Because the truth is, what you get from it has a lot to do with what you bring to it. Which is another way of saying, it wouldn’t be the same without you!
