I just upgraded and very nice!

  • Brandon

Generally, I like the upgrade. One thing though… how do I get rid of the little Windows 8 desktop widget? You know, the little half-hidden, pop-up thing? I didn’t see an option to do that, but running in the tray is just fine with me. This thing, peeking at me from the corner of my eye, is getting on my nerves.

Hi Brandon! You can turn off OneClick like this: http://screencast.com/t/oiygcQlwZlB Thanks for the feedback!

      • Brandon

That’s it! That’s the key! I failed to make the connection between the “thing” and the term “OneClick”. Very good. Thanks!

          No problem! :)

I upgraded to Snagit version11. Now on a learning cure and the first problem question is; I get a pop up: ENCOUNTERED AN IMPROPER ARGUMENT, I did a search trying to find an answer, but can’t seem to find the request solution: What am I doing wrong. Using Windows XP, Firefox 19.0.2.

Hey Viktor! Sorry to hear about your issues. When do you get that error? Is it when you try to share one of your images or videos?

    • Carol

I get this invalid argument pop up error all the time now too – whenever I first open Snagit or any time I take a snapshot. I am really regretting upgrading. I loved SnagIt before and I hate this version 11.

You say, “By default, OneClick appears at the top-center of the screen. OneClick
can be docked anywhere along the left side, right side, or the top of
the screen.” What about for us corporate users who don’t have a lot of say about installing or modifying software settings…For instance, we just use one thing and that is available by pressing the Print Screen button–there is no need to have another ‘thing’ floating around my Desktop. I didn’t see anything that indicated that it can be disabled and remain in the Windows Sys Tray as before?

Hi Fer – you can turn off OneClick here: http://screencast.com/t/oiygcQlwZlB and Snagit will still be available via the system tray as long as it’s running.

Thank goodness. I don’t need some random toolbar cluttering my workspace.

Very unsure about this upgrade. I switch between three profiles regularly and could just pick the capture I wanted off the drop down menu before the upgrade. Now I have to change profile and then click another button to take the capture. If I’m switching between captures this can be a pain.

It would be good if there was a hot area of the profile selection flyout where I could click to get ‘select this profile and do a screen capture now’.

Hi Steve – thanks for your feedback…so it sounds like you’d like to have the capture initiated as soon as you choose it from the OneClick menu? Have you played around with assigning hotkeys to your most-used profiles and using those to trigger captures?

  • Lynn Carlson

Very happy with one-click! The upgrade came in the nick of time for a big project I was working on in which I had to take many many screenshots and some video of a map that changed over time. The one-click option allowed me to do this much more efficiently. Thanks for a great upgrade and keep up the good work. P.S. liking the new stamp collections too!

Thanks so much, Lynn! We’ll do our best to keep it up. Please let us know if you have any additional feedback for us. We’ll keep the stamps coming as well. :)
