Time Saver Tuesday – Share and Share Alike

Throughout the day I’m working in a variety of programs. I’m guessing you do the same. And, I’m often adding screenshots all over – I’m using them in my email, on Twitter, in a project plan in OneNote, as a title screen in a Camtasia Studio screencast and more…

You can save yourself some time and a few steps by using Snagit ‘outputs’. With Snagit outputs, you send your captures directly from Snagit’s Preview Window directly to the program or website of your choice with a single click. No need to save the capture and then find the saved image and import or paste into another program (that’s way too many extra steps!).

You can download the Snagit outputs here. We have a Snagit output for: Screencast.com, Camtasia Studio, MindManager, Fog Creek FogBugz, Visual Studio Team System, Blogs (Movable Type, TypePad, WordPress.com and LiveJournal), Snagit Notes, Instant Messenger (Skype and AOL Instant Messenger), Flickr, and Microsoft Office (Word, OneNote, Excel and PowerPoint).

What other programs would you like to send your Snagit screen captures directly to? What would save you time?

An output for Twitter would be awesome!

I love Snagit, but almost never use this Output function. Why? They are kind of one-sided. I have a self host WordPress. I use Evernote, twitter and facebook all the time. None of which are in the output list.
Of course for MS Office. It’s priceless. So 10 points for idea, but more diversity is needed today. Flickr output is kind of weird as Flickr is a photo site, not a png site.

I would love to output for Outlook. I often answer questions via email and I use Snagit a lot when responding to the questions.

I would love output to Google Apps (Sites/Docs/Gmail).

The blog post is nice from the standpoint that it hints at increasing productivity and saving time. Yet it teases us because it doesn’t advise how someone would use one of these outputs.

Would be nice to see a screencast that contrasts the “non-output” way with the “using output” way to see how an output is actually used to save time.

I need to ouput as en email in AOL. I always use AOL to send emails and I need to capture a client page many times a week and email the shot to my sales manager but cannot seem to do in AOL. My sales manager is not on AOL so I cannot use AIM. PLEASE help. How can I use AOL email as an output?

I need the output from Snagit to Google Docs. I haven’t found anyway to get the capture into these files.
